You might lose a set of tires during the Burnout Challenge, but it’s a fair trade for bragging rights!

Running from July 15-21, this annual pilgrimage is always a great time for car enthusiasts, especially those who sport the 5.0 logo and Ford blue oval. There are plenty of great events spanning the entire week, including:

  • Kickoff Meet and Greet at the Palace Theater on Tuesday, July 16th
  • A day full of events at the Myrtle Beach Speedway on Wednesday, July 17th, including autocross, circle track fun runs and burnout contest starting at 9:30 am. All paid participants receive free admission to the Wheels of Destruction Thrill Show that night
  • 5.0 Magazine Dyno Challenge: on Thursday, July 18th participants will meet at the North Myrtle Beach Hooters and cruise to the Darlington Drag Strip. Drag racing will take place there from 3-11 pm
  • The 8th Annual Car Show takes place at the Myrtle Beach Mall on Friday, July 19th from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • Wrapping up things on Saturday, July 20th is the southeast’s largest Mustang Cruise-in at the Myrtle Beach Mall from 12 pm until 6 pm. Winners from the car show will be announced at 3 pm.
